Viewing documents
Viewing a document downloads a read-only copy of the document to a location on your computer where you can open it in the application that is registered in Windows for the file type. The copy should not be edited. The status of the document in the library is not changed, the document is not locked, and other users may check out the document for editing. To download a copy of the document for editing, check out the document as described in Checking out documents.
To view a read-only copy of a document:
- Open the SharePoint library that contains the document that you want to view.
- Do one of these actions:
- Click the name of the document that you want to view.
- Point to the name of the document that you want to view until the down arrow
appears, click the down arrow, and select View Copy (Read Only).
The BlueCielo Download Manager dialog box appears.
- To see details of the files you are about to download, click Show Details.
- To change the destination of the file and other settings, click Settings. For information on configuring the settings, see Configuring the BlueCielo Download Manager.
- Click Start. The file downloads and other actions may occur depending on your BlueCielo Download Manager settings.
